This session provided for individuals working frontline will highlight the impacts of the social determinants of health, trauma, and adverse childhood experiences on the development and well-being of individuals. Facilitators will review the key assumptions and the guiding principles of trauma-informed care and how this can aid in an individual’s recovery and resiliency. The goal of this session is to provide participants with knowledge around the impacts of trauma, the importance of trauma-informed care, and how to practically apply this approach with individuals with a substance use disorders.

This session will be taking place in person, at 77 Charter Avenue (entrance on East Drive), in the NL Housing and Homelessness Network’s Provincial Learning Centre. Our location is on a bus route (route 2), and there is free parking across the street from the entrance – please note that the backlot parking is for tenants of the building only.
